Elevating the Meaning in Your Work and Your Social Network
January 25, 2007
7:30 – 10:00 a.m.

We are beginning our year with a strong intention for all programming! Each program will be designed to connect the expertise in the room – among our membership and guests - with the value that our invited presenter(s) bring. The content will be practical and focused on topics of shared concern and enable high-value networking.

We will kick off the year with a program that builds on the PHRPS research we discussed at out December meeting on social networks.  Ilene Wasserman, Principal of ICW Consulting, will facilitate a process based on the principles of the Appreciative Inquiry Methodology. Our focus will be: Discovering what inspires our deepest connections to our work.  Specifically we will explore at our tables:

  1. Who we are when we are doing what is most important to us
  2. What we are doing when we feel most inspired and impactful
  3. Who we are currently connected with in our work
  4. Given that, how might we enhance the diversity of our network

The very process we have designed will support two outcomes:
1) self-discovery (or rediscovery) while 2) deepening connections among us.  Over the year all our programs will in some way drive to increase the value of our community—a renewal for how we think about networks.

We would also like you to take the opportunity to invite colleagues who are in the next generation of PHRPS members/leaders to participate (and join!) in the dialogue.  So, think of someone in a strategic HR role who is an emerging leader within your clients or organization, along with others in your network for whom PHRPS is a great opportunity.
