What is your background?

I was born and raised in Cincinnati , Ohio and attended Miami University.  My early career consisted a series of generalist HR assignments in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, West Virginia, and finally Philadelphia

How did you get interested in HR as a field?
As a Psychology and Sociology major, I was always fascinated with human behavior and why we do the things we do.  I viewed Personnel (That’s what we called it in those days!) as the business application for some of the things I studied in school.
How long have you been in it?

I started in HR in staffing in 1977; first in search and then on the corporate side.  I was quickly able to navigate towards generalist assignments after that.

How long have you been a member?

I have been a member since 1996.
What are your responsibilities on the Board?

As the Membership Co-chair, I have responsibility for attracting new members to our organization and helping them make connections with other members.
What value do you see in being a member of PHRPS?
